Let the eagle soar

There is a song which I heard recently sung by the former US Attorney General. The lyrics to the song is written and sung by John Ashcroft:

"Let the eagle soar,
Like she’s never soared before.
From rocky coast to golden shore,

Let the mighty eagle soar.
Soar with healing in her wings,
As the land beneath her sings:
'Only god, no other kings.'

This country’s far too young to die.
We’ve still got a lot of climbing to do,
And we can make it if we try.
Built by toils and struggles
God has led us through."

A patriotic song no doubt though many have made fun of it and the writer in view of the politics of the writer.

Nonetheless, this song does remind us of what America as a country is built upon.

How often do we forget?
