Do you know where you are going to?

"Few people know so clearly what they want.
Most people can't even think what to hope for when they throw a penny in a
fountain."
~Barbara Kingsolver,Inherited Patterns.

I like this song: Theme from Mahogany (Do you know where you are going to?)

Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you
Where are you going to?
Do you know...?

Do you get
What you're hoping for
When you look behind you
There's no open door
What are you hoping for?
Do you know...?

Once we were standing still in time
Chasing the fantasies
That filled our minds
You knew how I loved you
But my spirit was free
Laughin' at the questions
That you once asked of me

Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you
Where are you going to?
Do you know...?

Now looking back at all we've planned
We let so many dreams
Just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long
Before we'll see
How sad the answers
To those questions can be

Do you know where you're going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you
Where are you going to?
Do you know...?

Do you get
What you're hoping for
When you look behind you
There's no open door
What are you hoping for?
Do you know...?

Through generations, we inherit behavior patterns that are passed down to us from our ancestors.

What you don't deal with will be passed on; what you are willing to face, sort it out and heal and it will no longer re-infect the next generation.

What is interesting is that looking back or forward, 'you' are the one that can make the change.

We live in a world of complete emotional feelings that drive our decisions and make our choices.

If you can't see this, go and watch television for five minutes and re-read this.

Our patterns are constantly being re-enforced to self-destruct,going from one fad to the next wave.

We get a little excitement that eventually turns into a false reality, and then we are off to the next one.

Although 'we' have become aware, we know that we choose the path we take.

Do you know where you are going to?
