Truth and facts

"Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is
shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods. "

~Albert Einstein

Do we accept authority as truth, or truth as authority?

Well, the answer should be truth as authority, but then again, even when we understand this concept, what is truth and what does it really mean?

In the Indiana Jones movie "The last crusade", Indiana Jones is saying to his class that if you are looking for the truth, then you are in the wrong class.

Truth is found in the philosophy and religion department, that is where truth is found. "

As an archeologist," he said, " I am concerned with facts, not truth."

And the reason why, is that all educated people know that the truth is subjective.

Things that are true to you, may not be true to me. Truth can be pretty subjective.

So do you want to know the truth or the facts?
